The amino acids in your skin will respond naturally to the active ingredients Erythrulose and dihydroxyacetone (DHA) and other complementary ingredients in the tanning formula to produce the most beautiful sunless tan you've ever seen. Our spray tan eliminates the mess and problems associated with tanning creams and spray tan booths. There is no streaky mess, orange palms, or dirty looking knees and elbows.

After a brief consultation and assessment of your particular skin type, we will procede with a tan strategy recommended for your specific wants and needs. This will include selection and application of the most suitable spray tanning solution and ideal application technique for your skin type.

Tanning booths can damage your skin, leaving you red and blotchy. Chain store spray-tan chambers are impersonal, one-tan-fits-all, and often leave you embarassing shades of orange. SunKissed by Kris™ spray technicians work with you directly, applying spray tan solution based on your unique skin tone. SunKissed by Kris™ will set up our spray-tanning tent and equipment wherever you choose--in your home, on location at a party or event, or at your place of work. The tanning application process is private, sanitary, safe, and easy. We only require an accessible electrical outlet and an open and unobstructed 7'x7' area.

Your tan will last anywhere from 5 to 10 days, depending on how well you care for your skin and how well you follow the recommended SunKissed by Kris™ after-tan regiment. To help extend the life of your tan, prior to your tanning session, we recommended exfoliating with exfoliating gloves. For after tan care, we recommend daily moisturizing and patting dry after showering with a gentle towel. To preserve your tan a little longer, SunKissed by Kris™ moisturizing Tan Extender may also be purchased. Tan-extending products are optional, and may be requested when you book your appointment or tanning event.

The Food and Drug Administration approved dihydroxyacetone (DHA), the active ingredient in our spray tan solution, for external application to the skin. The FDA states that DHA should not be inhaled or applied to areas covered by mucous membranes, including the lips, nose or areas around the eyes because the risks of doing so are unknown. We are unaware of any documented health issues resulting from sunless spray tanning, though our tan technicians take precaution upon application.

No. The sunless spray is not a paint or dye. Rather it is a solution which contains dihydroxyacetone (DHA) and a cosmetic bronzer which naturally and safely interacts with your skin chemistry, resulting in an instant tan. DHA is a natural, healthy, and safe sugarcane derivative that was FDA-approved in the 1980s. DHA reacts harmlessly with amino acids on the outer layer of your skin resulting in a gradual and steady increased tanning of your skin. Your naturally bronzed tan will reach optimal color within 12 to 24 hours. The tan will fade, similar to a natural suntan, over the course of about 7 to 10 days.

So whether you're fair skinned and freckled, naturally olive skinned, or somewhere in between, getting a natural-looking, bronze, full-body tan is attainable for any skin type.

It can take up to 24 hours for the tanning solution to fully react with the amino acids in your skin (providing the fullest maturity of bronze color). We recommend not getting any water on your body and avoiding perspiration-causing activities for about 10-12 hours. Once showering, it is recommended pat drying with a soft, cotton blend towel.

Upon arrival at your home or other location, our SunKissed by Kris™ tanning technician requires about 10 minutes for equipment set-up and 10 minutes for post-tan clean up. The airbrush tan application itself typically takes about 15-20 minutes per person. Larger tanning groups or parties can also save time because multiple tans may be applied in succession after initial equipment set up.

To help prepare for your tanning session and after-care, we encourage review of the SunKissed by Kris™ Tan Care page on this website. We recommend wearing comfortable, non-restrictive clothing for your tanning session and afterwards. For a no-tan lines result many clients choose to be nude during their tanning session, however wearing underwear or a bathing suit works fine as well. Men must wear undergarments or a bathing suit at all times during spray tan application.

In the United States, Organic spray tan solution does NOT exist. The active ingredient in spray tan solution contains DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is derived from vegetable origin or sugar beets and has been FDA approved for topical application since the 1960s. However there is no evidence that organic DHA exists. SunKissed by Kris™ applies only the highest quality, eco-certified DHA, which is fully eco-compliant. Eco Cert is NOT organic, yet some companies tend to confuse the two compunds. Some companies claim their products "organic", however those claims are often unfounded or tanning solutions are manufactured or purchased from countries with little or no standards regarding use of the "organic" classification.
